Art Stuff.....
I have created this depository of miscellaneous art stuff with a few purposes in mind.
As I read I constantly run across more information than I can share in class, so I wanted to give you an area that you can come see art news, artist's work, interesting tidbits, things that hope inspire and provoke.
Enjoy.

PhotoShop Wunderkind Martín De Pasquale
We looked at some of his work in the 2D classes, but here is some more of his work. In a word, WOW!
Banksy Visits Palestine
Banksy has been lying low for a bit, but he surfaced recently in Palestine. Take a look at what he did here.
Hitlers Degenrate Art
Hitler reign of terror is well known, well documented and something that students learn about when covering WWII. What is often overlooked is the fact the in his quest to exterminate the intellectuals and the non-Aryans, artist and artwork were targeted en masse.
An article I came across, here, from the New York Times got me thinking, and then wandering through different links and I wanted to share some of the more compelling articles. I also pulled together a very small slideshow to take a peek at what scared Hitler so much.
If you are inclined to read more about it I recommend "The Monuments Men" please don't see the movie and feel its a substitute, its not. What I find even more compelling is "The Rape of Europa: The Fate of Europe's Treasures in the Third Reich and the Second World War" Since we know that more reading will help not only your SAT stores but also your vocabulary, higher level thinking, and creative processing its a good idea to pick up a book.
Some of the better articles I ran across. Some of the artist in the show with examples of their work can be found here. There is also a hard to believe story about how almost 1300 of these works disappeared for 60 years only to be found in a German apartment, with an appraised value of over 1 billion, yes with a B, in value.
